A Sad Goodbye

We had to say goodbye to my Uncle Danny, Aunt Amanda and cousin Evan today. I did not seem to mind all that much. I just slept through all the packing, loading of the truck and even the goodbyes! There were plenty of tears from everyone else anyways! Maybe when I am a little older I will realize how sad it is not to have my Uncle Danny and his family in the same town as mine!

Just so you Uncle Danny and Aunt Amanda, I am getting very big while you are away! You won't even recognize when you come to visit in June! Oh, Faith misses you lot's! She calls you on the phone (pretend) all the time!

My First Christmas!

Wow, my first Christmas went by so fast! I was born on the Friday before Christmas, sent home the next day (Saturday) and then all of our Christmas parties started on Sunday and went through Tuesday! The past few days have been a blur quite honestly! It's a little too much for this little one to take in!

Here I am wearing the dress that my big sister wore when she was my size! It was a bit bigger on me considering that I am a whole pound lighter than she was. Mommy and Daddy said that I did very well during the holidays but that they are ready for things to slow down now!

I'm Here!!!

I have made my grand entrance into this world! And, oh boy, was it grand! Mommy woke up on Friday morning, December 21st and started having really bad contractions at 7:00am every 30 seconds. I would give her little short breaks here and there but they mainly stayed every 30 seconds! After about 45 minutes Mommy told Daddy that maybe they should go ahead and prepare to go to the hospital. While Daddy was in the shower Mommy lost her plug and she told Daddy that she was now really sure that they should go to the hospital! On the way to the hospital Mommy and Daddy were supposed to drop Faith off at Uncle Timmy's and Aunt Kara's house so that she wouldn't have to wait long hours at the hospital. Well, Mommy didn't feel comfortable taking the extra time to drop Faith off because she was feeling a lot of pressure. About 3 minutes later I broke Mommy's water in the car! We arrived at the hospital at 8:40am and Daddy got Mommy upstairs. We were put in our room and they got Mommy in her gown and then they checked her and she was 8 cm dilated already! Well, the nurse tried to get a baby monitor on Mommy's belly when Mommy said that it felt like I was coming! Of course the nurse did not believe Mommy and told her to breath through it! Well, I had a different idea! The nurse turned to her computer and before you knew my head was laying on the bed! A doctor who was making rounds stepped in and saw what was happening and came to the rescue! She finished delivering me at 8:48am! Eight minutes from arrival time to birth time! I was very fast and officiant! Unfortunately my belly cord was wrapped around my neck when I came out and that explains the very purple face that I have in some of my pictures. After a minute or two on oxygen I started to get pink again! Mommy and me are doing great and I am so excited to have made my debut! I can't wait to meet all of you!

39 Weeks

Me and Mommy have made it to 39 weeks! I still keep her busy with practice contractions all day every day! She says that she's pretty ready for them to be real ones now! We went to the doctor today and we are 2 cm dilated but my head is not very far down. The doctor said that she would not let us go 2 weeks overdue and actually recommended that we put our names on a induction waiting list for next week. There are 32 moms due next week and only two hospitals to take them all. The doctor said it will definitely be on a first come first serve basis! We are on the waiting list for next Wednesday or Thursday but this still does not guarantee my arrival, it's just a waiting list. We will keep you posted! Until then, Mommy and Daddy are going to try some of your run-of-the-mill home methods of getting me to come!

38 Weeks

Today Mommy and me went to the doctor and everything is looking good. Mommy's blood pressure is great, she isn't swelling very much and she was most excited to learn that she was not Strep B positive this time. So now Mommy says that I can come as quickly as I want since we don't have to wait to get any antibiotics before I arrive! Mommy has been keeping me very busy this week while Daddy's been out of town. She is doing all sorts of cleaning and organizing so that everything is it's place when they bring me home! Well, I am not quite sure when I will choose to arrive but I will definitely let you know! Until then I will keep updating you on my progress!

37 Weeks

Well, I am 37 weeks old today! I am staying very active and rushing Mommy to bathroom every second that I get! Also, I am giving Mommy lot's of practice contractions day and night! We went to the doctor on Monday and they thought that I might have turned breech! Needless to say Mommy got a little worried! She didn't feel like I had turned but we got a sonogram anyways to make sure! I am not breech, just difficult! I am measuring about 1 1/2 to 2 weeks further along but some of that might have to do with the fact that I am surrounded in more fluid than my big sister was at this time. The normal count for fluid ranges from 5 to 20 and my Mommy's count is 21, so this means that we are on the high end. It's better to be on the higher end than the lower end! Mommy says that I need to stay in at least one more week because Daddy will out of town all next week and I am not allowed to come until he gets back!

These pictures were taken on Saturday after Daddy's company Christmas Party! I decided to give Mommy steady contractions every 4 to 6 minutes during the evening but she didn't seem to mind much!

36 Weeks

36 weeks and counting! I am so excited to make my debut and Mommy says that she can't wait either! She says that I am very active and that there is hardly a time day or night that I am not moving around. She said that hopefully when I come out that I will like to sleep a little more than I do now, but I doubt it! Mommy says that she feels very different from when she was pregnant with my big sister Faith and she is glad to get more sleep now thanks to something called, Unisom! Well, it's getting close enough to predict when I am coming. So I will let you know what people are saying. Mommy thinks that I will be 2 days late, Daddy thinks that I will be 1 week early, most people we know are guessing two weeks early and everyone else we meet think that Mommy is overdue! Well, we will get an update from the doctor next Monday, so we will post what she says. See you all pretty soon but I will post even sooner!

34 Weeks & Counting

Note From Mommy: This week marks 34 weeks of being pregnant! I am definitely on the downward slope and I have definitely hit that nesting stage! Everything with the baby is looking good and the doctor said that as of today, if I should go in to labor they would not stop it. Let's just hope that Lilly decides to stay in there for several more weeks!

It has been pretty hard to stay up-to-date with posting due to my nesting syndrome! I am currently painting the kitchen cabinets and finishing the last bit of baseboards and doorways! Hurray! It has been quite the accomplishment to paint the entire interior of a house while pregnant while having an almost 2-year-old. Explains why it has taken me the entire summer, fall and here we are into winter! Oh well, at least I will be able to say that it is done before Lilly makes her debut!

Please be praying that this energy streak will last me another month! I have hit the point were I don't sleep much (hence some of the strange posting times) and I have had to deal with a rash (probably baby induced) since the beginning of the 2nd trimester. I love being pregnant but I must admit that I am very much looking forward to the day that I get to meet my little Lilly!

I did not get the chance to get maternity pictures done when I was pregnant with Faith and I am so glad that it worked out this time around! I definitely recommend it to any other expecting moms! What a wonderful way to hold on to the precious memories of pregnancy!

26 Weeks

Here's Mommy and her good friend Rochelle and of course don't forget about us babies hiding away in their tummy's! Rochelle is due towards the middle of November with a little baby boy and Mommy hopes that when he gets here that they will start a blog so that we check in on him.

Mommy's doctor continues to tell her that I am doing great and staying on track for December 26th (or around there). Mommy weighs the exact same as she did with my big sister except she does not have the swelling that she had with Faith.

25 Weeks

Mommy said that I had a huge growth spurt this week! Can you see the difference between the photo from 24 weeks to this photo taken at 25 weeks. The photo to left was taken while we were in GA to see Uncle Timmy. I did my best to keep my Mommy exhausted during and after the trip! She said that between me and my big sister, we more than succeeded at the task!

24 Weeks

Here are some more tummy shots! Mommy says that it seems like every couple of days I have a growing spurt and her tummy gets bigger and bigger! I know my Mommy is proud of her tummy though! And how do I know, you ask? I hear her tell everyone she meets that she is very blessed to be pregnant with me and that she can't wait to meet me! That's how I know!

23 Weeks

I recently had a growing spurt and my Mommy's tummy really shows it in this picture! It looks like Faithy is trying keep Mommy's tummy from falling off!

Well, last night I kept Mommy up until 2:30am! Partly because she drank a Dr. Pepper (which I love) too late in the day and mostly because I was very, very active. She wishes she could have taken a video of her bouncing belly with my petruding hands and feet, but the camera was out of batteries. Hopefully next time we will be able to catch all the action on video!

2nd Sonogram - 22 Weeks

Well, it's been confirmed! There is no doubt that I am a girl! Me, Mommy, Daddy and Faith went to the doctor today to get a more accurate sonogram done. I am still a girl and I am still due December 26th! The doctor says that I am measuring great and looking great! I have just crested the 1 lb. mark according to my measurements and as you can see I enjoyed posing for my pictures! I get that from Faith!

I also get my sleeping position from my big sister!

21 Weeks

Watch me grow! Mommy's tummy is getting bigger and I am getting more and more active! This week I am producing the white blood cells that I will need to fight off getting sick and my eyebrows and eyelashes are filling in. Also, I am able to react when I hear or feel anything familiar! Mommy says that I react most to my big sister Faith!

First Photo + A Surprise

Today me, Mommy and Faith went to the doctor to get a check-up. This was just supposed to be another normal check-up, but it ended up anything but that! When Mommy's doctor tried to find my heart beat, she couldn't! This made Mommy very worried! Despite Mommy and Daddy not have health insurance yet, the doctor was nice enough to get us in for a quick sonogram to see what was going on. Well, it turns out that I am just fine! I was just being a little difficult and hanging out a little to low in Mommy's tummy so that the doppler could not pick up my heart beat. And now for the surprise, while they were checking my heart they also checked to see if I was a boy or a girl! I'M A GIRL!!! Mommy and Daddy are so excited to be having another girl and my sister Faith was just excited to see me on the TV screen for the first time! The doctor says that she will have a more diagnostic sonogram when Mommy and Daddy have insurance, so more details later!

17 Weeks

Here I am in Mommy's tummy at 17 weeks! I am starting to grow very fast now! Mommy says that her new tummy is getting in the way of all of the painting that she has to get done in the house but that it is still a welcomed change!

16 Weeks

I learn the reflex of suction this week! Doctors say that if Mommy's eat something bitter tasting we stop sucking but if Mommy eats something sweet we start to suck twice as fast. My Mommy says that she can attest to this since one of the main things she craves is sweet, raspberries! She loves anything with raspberries in it especially if it's cold! I gues I have been keeping her pretty toasty with all of my growing and moving about!

15 Weeks

Here I am in Mommy's tummy! Am I cute or what! Mommy can already feel my little kicks and flips that I so enjoy performing! She says that she wasn't able to feel my big sister move this early but she is glad that she can feel me!

14 Weeks

Welcome to my baby blog! I am 14 weeks old now and growing in my Mommy's tummy! During the next week I will work hard to double my size! My full body systems are begining to work on their own and my heart beats at twice the rate of my Mommy's! My arms and legs are fully developed and I will begin to teach myself how to wave and maybe even suck my thumb!

My Mommy, Daddy and big sister Faith do not yet know if I am going to be a girl or a boy but they are excited that I will be spilling the beans at the end of July or first of August! Daddy say's that he thinks I am a girl and Mommy says that she just can't tell! What do think I will be?
